Ms. Marie’s love of music started at age 4 when she would secretly dance to her parents’ records so as not be teased by her older brothers for dancing. At age 5 her formal piano lessons began with her first teacher, a Russian immigrant who spoke very little English at the time. She must have been quite good as she got her to play Mozart by age 6. Two other teachers had guided her piano knowledge and skills until age 16, One being a Julliard School professor of music. Two solo piano recitals and eleven years of classical piano proved to be an asset for future endeavors, not directly having to do with music. The ability to memorize and to build both hemispheres of the brain, to bring life to music on sheet paper, and the ability to perform in front of people (did I mention Ms. Marie was extremely shy as a child?) enriched and strengthened her as an adult, a homeschool mom, and an entrepreneur. She didn’t even really like the piano until the age of 10. That’s when the magic of music blossomed within her and she fell in love with the piano. Fast forward a few decades and she began teaching piano. She loves to watch the kids gain the technical skills and more importantly loves to nurture the appreciation and love for music of all kinds.
